These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of RateScope (“RateScope,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including the website at ratescope.org and any related services. By creating an account or using RateScope, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use RateScope.

1. What RateScope Is

RateScope is a dashboard that aggregates publicly available economic data from the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database, organizes it into categories, and provides plain-English descriptions and AI-generated commentary for each metric.

2. Not Financial Advice

RateScope is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on RateScope — including data, descriptions, color-coded indicators, or AI-generated insights — constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and should not be relied upon as such.

We are not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial planner. You should consult a qualified professional before making any financial or investment decision. Any decisions you make based on information from RateScope are made at your own risk.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a RateScope account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

• RateScope offers a free trial period, after which continued access requires a paid subscription billed monthly.
• Subscriptions are billed in advance and automatically renew each month unless cancelled.
• To cancel your subscription, contact ratescopesupport@gmail.com. Cancellation stops future renewals; we do not provide refunds for the current billing period already paid for, except where required by law.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
• We reserve the right to limit free trial eligibility, including restricting repeat trials associated with the same person, email address, or account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Access RateScope's systems, data, or underlying infrastructure through automated means (scripts, bots, scraping) without our written permission
• Attempt to circumvent any access, authentication, rate-limiting, or billing controls
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to RateScope without our written permission
• Use RateScope in any way that violates applicable law
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of RateScope's systems

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Data Sources and Accuracy

Underlying economic data is sourced from FRED (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis) and other public sources. While we aim for accuracy, we do not guarantee that data displayed on RateScope is complete, current, or error-free at all times. Data may be delayed, cached, or subject to revision by the original source.

7. Intellectual Property

The RateScope name, design, organization, descriptions, and software are our property or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of RateScope's content or software except as necessary for your own personal, non-commercial use of the service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

RateScope is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that RateScope will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RateScope and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or financial losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, RateScope, or from any financial or investment decision made in connection with information obtained from RateScope.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of RateScope after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date above when changes are made.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to RateScope at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to RateScope or other users.
